Hank looked for ways to be helpful every chance he got. He was especially helpful in the kitchen.  He could whip up a meal in no time at all.

"If I do everything exactly right, they will fall in love with me and I will get to stay," thought Hank. (He didn't realize that Scruffy was in the shadows and overheard Hank's wish).

Hank even did the dishes! He worked harder and harder each day hoping to finally hear that his foster family had fallen in love with him. "If only they could forget that I used to be HORRIBLE, and learn to just call me Hank," he thought.
